Number of units: 12

Start date: October 2007
Completion date: Anticipated January 2009
Description/Special Features:
The Association acquired the building in March 2006. It had been unoccupied for a number of years and was in a poor condition.
The development is one of three critical projects in the Heritage Lottery Funded (www.hlf.org.uk) Coupar Angus Townscape Heritage Initiative.
6 x 1 bedroom flats (including 1 ground floor amenity flat) and 6 x 2 bedroom flats (including 1 ground floor amenity flat) will provide much needed accommodation for rent.
The George Square elevation is to be demolished, due to its particularly poor condition, and the difficulties in bringing that part of the building up to modern standards.
This is to be replaced with 3 traditionally constructed new build flats. The remainder of the building is to be extensively refurbished.
Update: January 2009 - work is complete and the new tenants of 'Crichton Lang Court' move in.
Crichton Lang was closely and passionately involved in efforts to rejuvenate Coupar Angus. An architect and designer by trade, he was a founding member of Coupar Angus Regeneration Trust and a Board member of Perthshire Housing Association.
