Resident democracy

We're committed to listening to the views of our tenants and sharing owners - and  involving them in making decisions about the services we provide and the ways in which their homes and communities are managed.

"Resident Democracy" is about providing a number of opportunities for residents to tell us what they think and become involved in the decision-making process.

BECOMING A MEMBER

Membership of the Association is open to all residents.  There is a £1 non-returnable membership fee.

THE RESIDENTS PANEL

The Residents Panel is a group of tenants and sharing owners.  It meets monthly to discuss issues that are important to residents and relevant to our activities.  It helps us design and improve services so that they meet the needs of those using them.

You do not need to have any special qualifications to join the Panel.  All you require is an interest in the Association's work and in helping us improve for the benefit of all residents.

Three Panel members are elected each year to serve as resident representatives on our Management Board.

MANAGEMENT BOARD

The Management Board is the Association's governing body.  It is made up of 19 members who are collectively responsible for overseeing our business.  They meet regularly to discuss a wide range of issues affecting our activities; and to monitor various aspects of our work.

Three spaces on the Board are reserved for resident representatives.

ONLINE MESSAGE BOARD

Anyone is free to share their views on any aspects of our work via our Message Board

THE VIEWPOINT PANEL

The ViewPoint Panel consists of around 100 PHA residents who have agreed to complete up to 3 short postal questionnaires each year.  These cover a variety of topics related to our services and policies.

Questionnaires take no longer than 15 minutes to complete and the results are published (anonymously) on-line.   We are always keen to recruit more Panel members.

Email us for information about joining the ViewPoint Panel  (Remember to tell us your name and address.)

THE ANNUAL RESIDENTS CONVENTION

All residents receive an invitation to our annual convention.  It provides an opportunity for residents to meet and find out about our activities over the past year.

Email us to request further information about the Convention

RESIDENTS GROUPS

Residents Groups have an important role to play in influencing our policies and services.  They can also help create good community spirit.

We'll support groups of residents who want to meet to discuss issues that affect them and are relevant to our activities.
