PHA is committed to listening to the views
of its tenants and sharing owners and involving them in making decisions
about the services it provides and the ways in which their homes
and communities are managed.
in promoting "Resident
Democracy" we provide a number of opportunities for residents
to tell us what they think and become involved in the decision-making
process.
These include:
- Becoming a member of
PHA
- The Residents Panel
- The Committee of Management
- The ViewPoint Panel
- The Interactive Forum
- The Annual Residents Convention
- Setting up or joining
a Residents Group
BECOMING A MEMBER
Membership of the Association
is available to all residents subject to paying a £1 non-returnable
membership fee.
Membership of the Association
allows you to attend our Annual General Meeting and any special
General meetings. Members of the Association are also eligible to
stand for election to the Management Board.
Take the first step to becoming a
member by e-mailing us to
request a membership application form. Remember to tell us
your name and address.
THE RESIDENTS PANEL
The Residents Panel consists
of tenants and sharing owners just like you.
You do not need to have
any special qualifications to join. All you require is a genuine
interest in the Association's work, a desire to help us improve
and a commitment to working with our tenants for the benefit of
the communities that we serve.
The Residents Panel meets
monthly and shadows the work of the Management Board. Panel
decisions and views really do greatly influence the Committee.
Panel members vote annually to fill three places that are reserved
for the Panel on the Management Board.

here to receive more information on the Residents Panel.

MANAGEMENT BOARD
The Management Board consists
of 19 citizens whose common ambition is the improvement in the condition
and supply of affordable homes.
The Board is the Association's
governing body and is esponsible for all matters of policy and strategy
and employs the Association's professional staff team.
Three places on the Board
are reserved for Residents Panel members. Each year one-third of
the Board is elected at the Association's Annual General Meeting.
THE VIEWPOINT PANEL
The ViewPoint Panel consists
of around 100 PHA residents who have committed themselves to completing
3 short postal questionnaires each year. These cover a variety
of topics related to service delivery and policy development issues.
Questionnaires usually
should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete and the results
are published on-line.
We are always keen to
recruit more Panel members and if you would like to join or wish
more information, just click
here.
INTERACTIVE FORUM
Our secure online "chatroom"
allows PHA residents to discuss their views on any number of housing
and community related topics with one another.

here to enter the forum.
THE ANNUAL RESIDENTS
CONVENTION
The Residents Convention
is the single largest gathering of PHA residents.
At the Convention, residents
have the opportunity to find out how the Association has performed
over the past year and take part in a range of informal (and usually
interesting!) discussion groups.
The Convention is usually
held in late spring or early summer and all residents receive a
personal invitation to attend.
RESIDENTS GROUPS
Residents Groups have
an important role to play in not only influencing our policies and
the delivery of our services but also in fostering good community
spirit.
Speak to your neighbours
and even if there are only a few who want to become involved get
in touch or request a copy of our leaflet on Residents Groups.
Be assured that we will
provide support and help you to establish a viable group.
